FEBRUARY 2016 – SPRING TIPS

Reducing the risk of SARA and Magnesium Deficiency SARA (sub-acute ruminal acidosis) is a common problem during the grazing season. The problem is particularly seen after the first rotation where grass is lush and wet. Grazing 12 hour blocks increases the risk of SARA. Where SARA is present diarrhoea is seen and coats appear dirty. Some individual cows are often more severely effected and appear depressed and have poor rumen fill.

Inform Nutrition announces Plant Expansion Inform Nutrition Ireland is delighted to announce the expansion of their production facility in Cork, Ireland. William Twomey Commercial Director said “The announcement further advances our reputation as a world leader in the nutraceutical sector. The expansion of Inform Nutrition Ireland and the addition of new high-skill jobs is great news for Cork and indeed for Ireland.” “Our rapidly expanding export growth and our robust new product development pipeline have transformed Inform Nutrition Ireland into one of the fastest-growing nutraceutical companies in the world” said Martin Beirne Technical Director“. The project will add new buildings to the manufacturing site in Cork, Ireland. The expansion will enable the company to continue to accommodate the rapid growth it has experienced over the last eight years and improve R&D and production efficiency.

We are delighted to announce the further expansion of our Quality Department with the appointment of Shirley McCarthy Bsc from GlaxoSmithKline, Shirley brings over 13 years experience to the role. This is the next stage in our commitment to our strategic plan of continuous product quality improvement.

Ms Emma Delaney Bsc has been appointed quality manager of Inform Nutrition Ireland. Emma joins from Takeda Pharmaceutical Ireland and will head up the further development of the high quality standard which Inform Nutrition Ireland operates under. Kathleen O Keeffe Bsc will now head up our new export registration department to further facilitate the service we provide to our distribution partners in over 31 countries world wide.

2010 saw a further €1m investment in a second clean room facility at the Cork plant in order to adhere to the high standards the company has set itself and meet growing demand from distribution partners. At present Inform Nutrition Ireland manufactures over 400 different formulations many of them made to the exact requirements of our distribution partners.
