Our Story
Inform Nutrition’s journey began in 1986, born from a shared vision between two friends, Martin Beirne and the late Denis Twomey. With over 25 years of combined experience in the animal nutrition sector and a passion for nutrition-based health, they identified a gap in the market for science-led, nutrition-based health solutions formulated to drive animal performance.
Denis and Martin had a clear vision: to innovate in animal nutrition with purpose and integrity with a positive impact on the planet and food production. That vision still drives us today. From our formulas to our footprint, we challenge convention and push boundaries. Their belief in doing things differently laid the foundation for a company that values science, sustainability, and service. We continue to ask the hard questions, explore new solutions, and stay true to the ethos that started it all 40 years ago.

1980s
Humble Beginnings
- Established by Martin Beirne and the late Denis Twomey
- With one employee the company commenced production of premix and set new standards in the manufacture of premixes in Ireland
- Manufactured 300 tonnes of premix in year one
- Within the year Inform open the Whitecross manufacturing facility
1990s
Growth & Expansion
- Milkshake launched to the market
- William Twomey son of founder late Denis Twomey joins the organisation
- With Enterprise Ireland support Inform begin exporting to Canada and France
2000s

- Expansion of manufacturing facility in Whitescross

- UFAS certification
- Mervue Laboratories is established for specialisation in Veterinary products

- Leading manufacturer of vitamin and mineral premixes and feed additives across the whole range of species, including Cattle, Calves, Sheep, Pigs, Poultry, Horses, Racing Camels and Pets.
- 30 years in business
- Opening of Inform Meenane site to incorporate Distribution Hub, enabling faster delivery for customers in Ireland
2020s
Innovating, Building

- William Twomey is appointed CEO of Inform and Mervue Laboratories
- Rebrand of Inform logo marking a new era for Inform
- Inform launch Organolics Ireland’s first fully certified organic mineral bucket lick range, highlighting our commitment to meeting the evolving demands of sustainable agriculture
- €5 million investment plan to drive research, innovation and expand operations
- Strategic plans were introduced to double production capacity to 60,000 tonnes within an 18-month timeframe, positioning Inform to hold the largest premix manufacturing capability on the island of Ireland.
- Exporting to over 60 countries worldwide
- The company remains privately owned
- All Inform products are 100% manufactured in Cork, Ireland to GMP standards.
